About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Project / Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Building Services Engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and commercially minded professional to lead the design and delivery of complex electrical building services projects across a diverse range of sectors, including commercial, residential, healthcare, education, industrial and public infrastructure developments.

Working closely with clients, design teams and project stakeholders, you will play a key role in delivering innovative, sustainable and compliant electrical engineering solutions throughout the full project lifecycle, from – concept development and detailed design through to tender, construction, commissioning and project handover.

Key Areas of Impact

  • Lead the design and delivery of electrical building services projects from concept through to completion.
  • Develop practical, innovative and energy-efficient electrical engineering solutions that meet client, regulatory and project requirements.
  • Manage and coordinate project deliverables, ensuring quality, programme and budget objectives are achieved.
  • Prepare and review electrical designs, calculations, specifications, reports and tender documentation.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams, including clients, architects, structural engineers, contractors and specialist consultants.
  • Provide technical leadership throughout the design, construction and commissioning phases of projects.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering technical development and knowledge sharing across the team.
  • Monitor site installations, commissioning activities and project progress to ensure compliance with design intent and quality standards.
  • Promote best practice in sustainability, energy efficiency and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to the Company’s ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems and project governance requirements.

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in electrical building services design consultancy or a similar engineering environment.
  • Strong technical expertise across power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, fire alarm systems, ICT infrastructure, renewable technologies and associated building services systems.
  • Proven experience leading projects through design, tender, construction and handover stages.
  • Strong project management, stakeholder engagement and commercial awareness skills.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively while providing technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineering teams.
  • Membership of, or progression towards, a recognised professional engineering institution would be advantageous.
