About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Sustainability Lead to drive the delivery of sustainable design solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects. This role will play a key part in supporting clients, project teams and stakeholders in achieving ambitious sustainability, energy efficiency and environmental performance objectives.

Working closely with Directors, Project Managers and multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will provide specialist guidance across all project stages, ensuring compliance with Irish regulatory requirements while supporting industry-leading sustainability certifications and best practice design principles.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced sustainability professional who is passionate about delivering practical, innovative and future-focused solutions that contribute to the built environment’s transition towards net-zero carbon.

Key Areas of Impact

  • Lead sustainability strategies and environmental performance initiatives across a range of building and infrastructure projects.
  • Provide specialist advice on sustainable design, energy efficiency, carbon reduction and environmental compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage and deliver sustainability assessments, audits, modelling studies and technical reports to support project objectives.
  • Guide project teams in achieving sustainability certifications and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, contractors and other stakeholders to embed sustainability principles into project design and delivery.
  • Support concept development, value engineering exercises and design reviews from a sustainability perspective.
  • Undertake building performance assessments and provide recommendations to optimise energy efficiency, occupant comfort and environmental performance.
  • Attend client, design team and stakeholder meetings as the sustainability subject matter expert.
  • Monitor emerging legislation, industry standards and best practice developments to ensure projects remain compliant and future-ready.
  • Provide mentoring, technical guidance and sustainability training to colleagues across the business.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of sustainability processes, methodologies and technical standards within the organisation.

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree qualified in Sustainability, Building Services Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Energy Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering sustainability strategies within the Irish construction and building services sector.
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • Sustainability certification frameworks – LEED and BREEAM
    • Irish Building Regulations – Part L
    • Building Energy Performance and Energy Modelling
    • Overheating Risk Assessments and Thermal Comfort Analysis
    • Low Carbon and Net-Zero Design Principles
    • Sustainable Building Certifications and Environmental Compliance Frameworks
  • Experience preparing technical reports, sustainability assessments and client-facing recommendations.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and project coordination skills.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to balance sustainability objectives with project delivery requirements.
  • Membership of a recognised professional body or relevant sustainability accreditation would be advantageous.
