Uniphar Greenogue

11,000 m2

Dublin, Ireland

2015, 2017

Uniphar Group required a temperature controlled bulk storage facility for their controlled and uncontrolled pharmaceutical distribution business.  The building was required to provide ambient storage for storing pharmaceutical products, allowing specific temperature requirements. This facility is fully compliant with all bodies including the HPRA. The warehouse also includes a high level of security and precise temperature control and reporting.  The space is also support by a standby power generator with bulk fuel storage.

The building also has a fully air conditioned office space which includes open plan offices, meeting rooms, canteen area and ancillary rooms.  The office is served by a Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) system for air conditioning, Uninterruptable power supply (UPS) to the comms room and Cat A structured cabling throughout.

The client had a requirement to have an energy efficient solution to support the warehouse temperature control.  A significant number of solutions were reviewed and modelled as part of the scheme design stage.  These included options such as a natural ventilation strategy, fully air conditioning solution and methods of de-stratification of the space to ensure an even temperature across the entire storage facility.  The final solution utilised a system of induction which ensures minimal energy used for air distribution whilst maintaining the temperatures in the space.
