Pfizer Inc. is an American multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology corporation headquartered in Manhattan, New York City. Pfizer develops and produces medicines and vaccines for immunology, oncology, cardiology, endocrinology, and neurology.

Pfizer Ireland have recently completed the multi-discipline fit-out upgrade to their building at Citywest Business Campus, Dublin.

The building comprises of 2,700m² commercial office space over 4 floors. The new fit-out includes a new reception area, large tea prep & breakout space, open plan working office spaces, meeting rooms, quiet booths, a gym/health centre and a games room. Pfizer’s client brief included an upgrade to their fan coil unit controls and lighting LED upgrades.

Axiseng was commissioned by StructureTone to undertake the mechanical and electrical services design of the fit-out. The overall programme of the design and construction was 7 months.

Some design challenges which were overcome included co-ordinating the sprinkler head coverage to compliment the new reflected ceiling plans.

Local repairs and replacement of services insulation were included to help the aesthetics of exposing existing services in the ceiling void. Due to the age of the original installation, a proportion of valves were included to be replaced and were required during the testing and commissioning stages of the project.

The success of this project depended on the responsivenes of the design teams to best inform StructureTone of limitations and routes with existing services.
