The Office of Public Works, a state agency of the Department of Finance, is a service organization that focuses on Estate Portfolio Management encompassing Heritage Services and Flood Risk Management. Their main responsibility within the Estate Portfolio Management branch includes ownership, maintenance and conservation of historical buildings in Ireland.

The project consisted of an upgrade and modification of the existing security room with the supply and installation of new CCTV cameras and equipment and an upgrade of the existing fire alarm system. All buildings were linked via comprehensive fire alarm network system and necessary fire detection systems were installed in all buildings on the campus.

Axiseng were commissioned to design and manage the installation of the security systems and fire alarm system upgrade works.

The campus was a large facility with some remote buildings in excess of 200 meters away from the main security room. The buildings, for the large part, are protected structures and cable installation and management had to be carefully designed. The existing security system needed to be maintained while the new security room was upgraded with new CCTV equipment, new fire alarm equipment and new staff welfare facilities.

Existing security room had to be relocated and maintained during the works. All existing system equipment in the field had to be re-wired to the temporary security room.  While the new security room was fitted out with all new equipment, wiring and new welfare facilities. All of the existing system and new system equipment was then transferred back to new security room.
