The new school campus in Carrigtwohill was constructed to accommodate Carrigtwohill Community NS (formally Scoil ChlĂodhna), Carrigtwohill Community College & Scoil Mhuire Naofa NS to staff and students recently. One of the largest single projects ever undertaken by the Department of Education, the new three-school campus will serve over 2000 students from the greater Carrigtwohill area.
This state-of-the-art campus will serve the primary and incorporating Special Education Needs units to meet the diverse needs of all students.
The school buildings are all bright and spacious with suitable acoustic environments and designed to be flexible so they can be adapted to promote different forms of learning in future.
Axiseng was commissioned by the client to provide a Technical Advisory role for the mechanical and electrical design and installation across the entire campus project.
The project required Axiseng to liaise with multiple design teams and construction teams across the 3No. sites from the initial design stage right through to construction, successful handover and occupation by the students.
Throughout the project Axiseng gave regular reports to the DoES on progress and technical performance of the mechanical and electrical installations constantly benchmarking the design and installations against DoES requirements.
